This was posted on a Facebook feed that I follow today, and it pretty much summarises everything I feel about birth.
It’s not “just one day”.
It’s not enough to go home physically in one piece, but emotionally destroyed, even though you’ve got that beautiful, healthy baby.
Women don’t forget, EVER, what happens in their birthing experiences, and how they were made to feel.
Please reach out if your birth experience continues to cause you anxiety or distress. No matter if it happened yesterday, or a decade ago. It’s OK, and necessary to talk about it.
The following resources provide a great starting point to get the conversation flowing. Please don’t hesitate to utilise them, your GP, or simply just someone that you trust enough to lay it all out there, if you need to.
