Here we are at the end of 2018.
My lesson this year has been about the importance of time – it’s fleeting. And it marches on, and changes us, whether we are fully present for it or not.
It’s been a year of reiterating the importance of family. Of being reminded to take no small moment for granted. Of learning to invest my time more wisely, and to step away from the mindset that being “busy” is some kind of accolade.
It’s been a year of amazing travel experiences, personal growth AND setbacks, emotional fatigue and brutal honesty. It was also a year of facing up to some major grief I’ve been holding onto. For the first time, in a long time, I’ve needed to really step back and ask for help. And I received it, along with a whole tonne of love.
My kids are growing. Our lives are changing. And 2018 has taught me that I need to be ok with change. Or at least to be able to acknowledge that I’m not, and to gather my troops as I need them.
Thank you to all of you who have been a part of our 2018. I love you guys. May 2019 be all that you wish for, and may the wisdom you’ve gained during 2018 prepare you for the new challenges to come.
